  1. General Duties
    • Performs activities in line with weight Certification
    • Travel and rig the crane/truck up (pin the boom and pendant cables and pull the hoist cable in preparation for operation) and set up the machine for the lift (i.e., make it level and stable) using blocking and levelling materials.
    • Operate booms (including telescoping booms and articulating booms possessing live lines) capable of swinging, hoisting, and booming up and down with appropriate weight certification
    • Operate articulating booms without live lines with appropriate weight certification
    • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inspections as required to ensure the safe operation of crane or truck
    • Complete necessary daily documentation (e.g., truck log, crane log, etc.)
    • Perform regular maintenance of crane/truck following the manufacturer’s recommendations
    • Knowledge and understanding of applicable federal, provincial, and municipal regulations
    • Ensure equipment is loaded, rigged, hoisted, and secured properly
    • Operate all equipment safely and efficiently, consistent with safe operating practices
    • Secure all equipment and attachments while in transit or left unattended
    • Able to live and work at remote locations in a camp setting

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Crane and Hoisting Equipment Operator – Boom Truck Journeyman certificate
  • Minimum 3-year related experience
